How To Make A Porotiti

 Hello everyone,

Today for reading, my group can choose to make a porotiti or a presentation. Everyone from our group chose to make a porotiti. It would only require a few things. While reading about the porotiti we realized that it was a musical instrument. 

When we all started we already got everything we needed. The hardest part I experienced was poking the holes into the cardboard. It took a lot of twisting and turning but I finally finished it. The last part was kind of confusing. I got stuck on the last part but mine turned out great It was working completely fine. 

While I was trying it, it didn't seem like a musical instrument. I spun the porotiti and placed it close to my ear. The porotiti didn't sound like a musical instrument. After I tested the porotiti I had to go somewhere.

                                                                                  You will need:

                                                                                  String

                                                                                  Cardboard

                                                                                  Scissors

                                                                                     Steps:

1.Make a circle by using the cardboard.

2. Make two holes in the middle 1 cm apart.

3. pierce the string into the holes. 

4. Tie the ends together in a well tied knot. 

5. This should make a loop around  the cardboard 

6. Have fun with your porotiti!!

The Library

 Hello everyone,

Today I am going to talk you about the library. For today our teacher took us to our school library. The first reason we went there was because some people needed to return their books. The name of the book I chose is called "Dracula." I spent a long time looking for a book. 

After we finished getting our books I realized that I didn't have to chose a book.

Handwriting

 Hello everyone,

Today I am going to talk about handwriting. For handwriting we did someones 100 word count. before we used to do poems but our teacher had the idea of writing our 100 word counts. Today it was kind of obvious which persons 100 word count it was. 

Every Friday we first have to finish our spelling. After we finish our spelling Miss Scott talks about handwriting. Just to make sure, this time it is week 8.

100 Word Count

Hello everyone, 

Today I am going to talk to you about my 100 word count. This time we got a picture of a statue. We were allowed to make a story about that statue. After I had to check if it was 100 words. It's not that easy to get exactly 100 words. I had to check my words a lot of times. 

After a few years (in the story) He started getting older and older. Then the people made a statue to remember him.  My story is about  a fearless man. that took part in World War 1. When he was involved he once took a shot for his friend.

Bark Rubbing

 Hello everyone,

Yesterday we did topic about bark. We had to find the different barks. After that we had to get paper and two crayons so we can do some bar rubbing. For bark rubbing we had to find some trees. 

Then the next step is to put your paper on tree and rub the paper with the crayon on the side. We have to get eight bark rubbings. The trees had to be different from the others.

Sooner or later when everyone finished we have to cut them up and make a tree (with the bark rubbing) Unfortunately we didn't have enough  time to make the tree.

Layers Of The Rainforest

 Hello everyone, 

Today I am going to talk to you about  Layers of the rain forest.  There is many different trees that reach different height. On the forest floor there is grass, dirt, animals,insects and bushes.  In the emergent layer there are some birds butterfly maybe monkeys.

Our class was going to write down facts about each layer of the forest like the forest floor, under story,canopy and the emergent layer. If you wanted people could search up facts about some of the layers but they have to put it into their own words. I didn't even need to search facts about the layers. It's because Before we started our work miss Scott told us some things that are in ever layer.

Facts About The Velvet Worm

Hello everyone, 

Today I am going to talk to you about velvet worms. For a few weeks we have been doing topic about flowers,the forest,class names. We have been working on a few more but this time we are working invertebrates. Invertebrates are insects without backbones, to protect themselves they a shell something called an exoskeleton. 

Before writing facts about the velvet worm I started off with the wētā. But I couldn't find any facts about it. Then I was just looking at my screen for a long time. But I figured out another invertebrate called velvet worm.
